Meet Jessa

Jessica “Jessa” (Gamble) Roquet of Roseville, MN, slipped away peacefully at age 42 during the early morning hours of June 1, 2021, after a brave 15-month battle with cancer.

Jessa was born in Mora, MN, on December 27, 1978. As the daughter of folk musicians, she flourished in a family culture of tight harmonies, storytelling, and guitars.

After graduating class of 2001 from Bethel University, Jessa built a musical treasure chest of her own as Gambler’s Daughter.

Noted for her poetic lyricism, rich voice, contagious laughter, and Georgia Green Gretsch Guitar, Jessa rallied a community of loyal friends and musicians to her support.

“Life is not solitary but crowded with hope.” –Jessa

Cherish the memories

Pictured on her 42nd Birthday, we share some of Jessa’s reflections, taken from her writings . . .

“know what you value” “maintain reverence for the sacred” “be divinely aware” “nurture relationships” “believe, even when circumstances say otherwise” “mine truth” “savor eclectic foods” “seek adventure” “be grateful” “express your creativity”
“live deeply” “live authentically” “live without regret” “accept: somethings in life, live only in the past” “choose to forgive” “love God with all your heart, soul, and mind” “stay the waves” “life is not solitary, but crowded with hope” “smile broadly and sing . . . ”

That, she most certainly did!
